About Next Generation Karaoke
Next Generation Karaoke is a Perth-based team of experienced karaoke hosts, delivering professional events across the metropolitan area. Since 2007, we have built a reputation for reliable hosted karaoke entertainment in Perth.
Next Generation Karaoke was established in 2007 and has been hosting karaoke events across Perth ever since.
Founder Rob first discovered karaoke in the early 1990s and quickly became a regular at shows around Perth. What began as a passion soon became hands-on experience. Rob bought his first home karaoke system and learned the craft from the ground up. In 2007, that passion became a business, and Next Generation Karaoke was born.
Since 2010, Rob and Rach have hosted karaoke events together. Over time, they have built a strong and reliable partnership both on and off the stage.
Highlights over the years include venue residencies across Perth, corporate Christmas functions, performances at major event spaces, and New Year’s celebrations.
Karaoke has taken us to birthdays, weddings, fancy dress nights, holiday parties, and everything in between. At the heart of it all is the same goal: creating fun, well-run karaoke nights where everyone feels welcome to sing.
Karaoke Hosts Perth – Our approach
We pride ourselves on running professional, fair, and enjoyable karaoke events.
- We maintain a large and regularly updated karaoke library.
- We invest in high-quality audio equipment for clear sound.
- We play upbeat music between singers to maintain atmosphere.
- We operate a fair rotation system so everyone gets their turn.
Singers are queued in order of arrival, with one song per round. Duets count as a song for each performer in that round. We do not move singers ahead in the queue. The aim is simple: a relaxed and enjoyable night for everyone.
Where venues permit, we are happy to accommodate younger singers earlier in the evening in line with licensing requirements.
Equipment
Our show setup is professional, reliable, and suited to a wide range of venues. Standard show equipment includes a Yamaha MG12XU mixer, Mackie Thump powered speakers, Samson cordless microphones, a 32″ singer screen for lyric display, and a 40″ audience screen for venues that do not offer connection to a house display system.
We invest in dependable equipment and maintain our systems carefully, helping us deliver clear sound, stable performance, and a smooth experience for singers, audiences, and venues alike.
Music Library
Our collection includes tracks from producers such as Zoom, Chartbuster, Sunfly, Capital Karaoke, Sound Choice, Music Maestro, Sundown NZ, Pop Hits Monthly, DKKaraoke, and Pioneer Karaoke. We regularly update the library with new releases and popular requests where they suit our collection and sourcing standards.
We support the karaoke industry by purchasing professionally produced tracks and maintaining a diverse catalogue rather than relying on a single source. This helps provide consistent sound quality, dependable playback, and a broad range of music choices.
We take library ownership seriously. For our hosted shows, we retain original CD+G discs as part of our archive and backup process, with our show library built from music we own and maintain.
Our hosted show library and our hire libraries are also managed differently for practical and sourcing reasons. Our main show songbook is our largest collection and is built around original CD+G ownership, along with ongoing disc-based updates from our supplier Capital Karaoke. Our hire systems use separately purchased digital libraries, primarily built from complete catalogues from Zoom, Chartbuster, and Capital Karaoke, with selected additional tracks from brands such as Sunfly, Big Hits Karaoke, DK Karaoke, and Legends where they complement the hire library. New request-based additions for our hire systems are purchased through our digital suppliers, including Zoom, Karaoke Version, and Capital Karaoke.
Hosted Show Standards
We maintain our main hosted show library on a transparent and verifiable ownership basis. This gives venues confidence that our collection is genuine, properly sourced, and not built on questionable or unlicensed material.
Some digital platforms promote larger catalogues and constant new releases. However, most hosted karaoke nights still revolve around a strong core of popular songs people know and love. We focus on maintaining a reliable, professionally sourced show library that performs consistently in real venue environments.
Because we maintain our hosted show library and hire libraries separately, not every song available on one system will necessarily appear on another. This keeps our show setup aligned with our owned disc archive, while our hire systems follow their own separately purchased and maintained library structure.
Reliability
We store all karaoke content locally across our show and hire systems. This helps us deliver reliable performance without depending on internet connectivity and allows our shows to run smoothly in a wide range of venues and environments.
In addition, we maintain separately purchased libraries for our hire systems. This supports compliance, reliability, and consistent performance across our different karaoke offerings.
We also hold registration with MIPI and have permission from karaoke manufacturers to use our karaoke content digitally.
Bookings
In addition to hosted karaoke events, we also offer karaoke jukebox hire and private or corporate bookings.
